Chainsaw Man Characters Ranked by Strength: The Ultimate Power Ranking Guide

Chainsaw Man Characters Ranked by Strength

The Chainsaw Man world is full of scary Devils, confident Devil Hunters, and just totally unstoppable Hybrids whose crazy abilities make each fight feel… well, like it could break reality. Made by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the series kinda blew up into one of the most popular current manga and anime franchises, mostly because the action hits hard, the emotional beats land, and the power scaling is never really predictable.

It’s also why fans can’t stop arguing about who, like, actually deserves being called the strongest. From world ending Primal Devils to famous Devil Hunters, the debates never pause. Sure, raw brute force matters, but intelligence, regeneration, contracts, speed, and straight up combat know-how also decide a character’s real level of threat.

In this list, we look at the strongest Chainsaw Man characters using what they’ve shown in the manga and anime, sorting them from insanely powerful to almost impossible to stop.

15. Kobeni Higashiyama

Kobeni can look sort of timid, scared, even distant but then she shows up, and fans get surprised again and again. Somehow she has these extraordinary combat instincts, like they just wake up at the worst moment. Her speed is incredible, her agility is sharp, her reflexes are on point, so she manages to keep breathing in battles that would wipe out other, far stronger Devil Hunters.

Even if her Devil contract is still a mystery, Kobeni has already shown off strong knife maneuvers, plus a pretty remarkable athletic capacity. The fact that she stays alive through so many lethal situations kind of says it all. She’s way tougher than her nervous personality would have people assume, which is honestly what makes it so hard to read her at first.

14. Aki Hayakawa

Aki is one of Public Safety ‘s most talented Devil Hunters, and honestly yeah he’s pretty much always there. Throughout the series he makes contracts with multiple formidable Devils, like the Fox Devil, the Curse Devil and the Future Devil too. His sword play, tactical intelligence, and that habit of willing to sacrifice himself make him feel like an exceptional fighter. Even before he gets the bigger, stronger powers later on in the story, Aki still manages to beat dangerous Devils more by pure skill, rather than just brute strength or overwhelming power.

13. Katana Man

Katana Man is one of the first Hybrid enemies that really starts to mess with Denji in a serious way. His hybrid transformation gives him this incredible endurance , better quickness , and blade attacks that are so destructive they can cut through several opponents at once, like it’s nothing at all.

Also, you know, he’s not just tough, he’s a practiced swordsman, and on top of that the Hybrid regeneration keeps him in the fight longer than people expect. So in the end he ends up being one of the most lethal human devil pairings they introduce pretty early in the series.

12. Reze

So, she’s basically called The Bomb Girl, Reze and yeah she’s one of those most dangerous Hybrids in Chainsaw Man. Her explosive abilities let her create brutal blasts, but she can still move around with this insane, almost unbelievable agility while she’s fighting, like nothing happened.

Also Reze’s mind is sharp, her espionage skills are clean, and her ruthless efficiency is kind of the whole thing. Because of that she becomes a super dangerous adversary, not just dangerous, but unusually lethal. In practice she pressures even seasoned Devil Hunters with strategy first, and then this overwhelming firepower right after, without giving anyone real room to breathe.

11. Quanxi

Often they say she is the First Devil Hunter, and Quanxi has centuries of fight experience, like really a lot. As the Crossbow Hybrid, she somehow mixes unmatched quickness with brutal ranged shots that wipe out foes in a blink almost.

Her skill with close quarters combat along with weapon techniques lets her take down several top Devil Hunters at the same time. Not many characters can keep up her kind of accuracy and that long battle background.

10. Santa Claus

Santa Claus turns out terrifying after he gets a huge boost of Darkness Devil power. After that, the whole thing becomes like a nightmare, with abilities so strong they can turn humans into dolls, and at the same time his physical strength shoots up, plus his regeneration gets way better.

Then Santa Claus shows really sharp command on the battlefield and somehow comes close to wiping out some of the series’ strongest characters, using control tricks and supernatural moves that just kind of overwhelm them.

9. Gun Devil

The Gun Devil is, pretty much one of the most feared devils in history. It caused millions of deaths worldwide in minutes, and yeah the destructive power it has is just unimaginable, it can flatten cities in seconds.

Even the smallest fragments of the Gun Devil, still carry enough force to put whole nations in danger, so the full devil becomes one of humanitys biggest nightmares.

8. Yoru (War Devil)

The War Devil has this terrifying ability to shift anything she owns into fierce, effective weapons. As things heat up in the conflicts , Yoru just keeps getting stronger, and it really ramps up, like a lot.

Even if she seems kind of drained at first, it’s only surface level. Her real potential turns out to be something else, and it puts her among the strongest Horsemen. And as she starts to get back more of her original power, her weapon-making powers become more and more risky , more dangerous each time, honestly.

7. Falling Devil

As one of the mysterious Primal Devils , the Falling Devil kind of embodies humanity’s instinctive fear about dropping, slipping, or just falling apart. Unlike quite a few other Devils, Primal Devils in general have never really gone through death, showing this heavy and overpowering superiority they carry.

The Falling Devil messes with gravity and psychological trauma at the same time, so victims get pushed into horrifying mental and physical suffering that most people can’t really resist, or at least not for long.

6. Fami (Famine Devil)

Fami is another member of the Four Horsemen, and she has abilities that, well, stay pretty mysterious. Even with few real showings of how strong she is she still manages to control formidable Devils almost effortlessly and she also arranges big, large scale happenings from the shadows.

Her mind is sharp, the planning is careful, and that’s why she ends up being one of the series most dangerous long term threats, for sure.

5. Makima (Control Devil)

Makima feels arguably like one of those most iconic villains in modern anime, you know. As the Control Devil, she can dominate anyone she takes to be inferior while, somehow borrowing contracts from endless powerful individuals at the same time.

Her almost limitless bag of tricks includes stuff like long-range attacks, extra durability, mind control, and really cruel supernatural techniques. And it’s not only about a straight up fight either, her influence goes way past direct combat, so she ends up being one of the series’ most terrifying characters overall.

4. Pochita (True Chainsaw Devil)

Pochita looks kind of adorable, but under that sweet face is the legendary Chainsaw Devil , the one even Devils themselves try not to name. His special power lets him erase Devils from existence by chewing them up, and that sorta rewrites reality at its core.

In his real shape Pochita has absurdly fast movement and insane stamina, plus strong recuperation, and a pretty brutal destructive force. A lot of Hell’s most powerful Devils keep avoiding a fight with him, because they really do fear that moment.

3. Denji (Hero of Hell)

As the main protagonist Denji, he sort of keeps evolving into one of the most powerful entities you see in Chainsaw Man. When he ends up fully merged with Pochita, something truly wild clicks, and he gets access to incredible transformations that can, yes, end up going toe to toe with even the deadliest Devils.

His endless drive, fast recuperation, and kinda chaotic combat rhythm make him feel like an opponent that’s almost impossible to silence forever. Throughout the manga, Denji keeps getting stronger, not in a neat straight line, but by pushing past enemies that are more and more unlikely to beat.

2. Darkness Devil

The Darkness Devil stands there, in between the terrifying Primal Devils that kinda embody humanity oldest fears. When it shows up, it instantly overwhelms elite Devil Hunters and legendary fighters too, even though it doesn’t look like it’s really trying. Its supernatural strikes seem to bypass usual defenses, and instead bring fear, dismemberment, and this heavy, psychological collapse. Like, very few people survive a direct run in with the Darkness Devil, not really.

1. Death Devil

The Death Devil is kinda widely seen as the strongest Devil in the Chainsaw Man universe. Like it’s the embodiment of humanity’s biggest and most universal fear, so Death naturally carries an unimaginable strength way beyond nearly every other Devil.

Even if a lot of the Death Devil’s complete abilities still stay in the shadows, the story keeps showing it as the final threat, able to outclass even other Horsemen and Primal Devils. So, based on everything we’ve been shown so far, the Death Devil really does deserve that top spot among the most powerful Chainsaw Man characters.

Honorable Mentions

Several other characters do deserve recognition, for their incredible strength really. Power shows off exceptional Blood Devil abilities and then gets much more powerful in her true Devil form, like yeah. Kishibe stays humanity's strongest Devil Hunter through decades of rough combat experience, plus extraordinary physical skill, no joke. Asa Mitaka keeps growing alongside Yoru, and she’s steadily turning into one of the most dangerous people in the series.

What Makes a Character Strong in Chainsaw Man?

Strength in Chainsaw Man isnt just about raw chainsaw level brute force. Like, a characters ranking ends up being shaped by multiple stuff, not only physical power—Devil contracts, regeneration, brain power, supernatural weirdness, fighting know-how, how well they adapt, and even the fear tied to what their Devil powers can do.

Characters that embody primal human fears tend to come off as absurdly strong, since those fears have been around for a long time in human history. Similar deal with the Four Horsemen , they sit among the most formidable entities because their symbolic link connects them to humanities biggest, most existential threats.

Final Thoughts

The power system in Chainsaw Man is still one of the most fascinating things in modern manga , because strength keeps changing back and forth with fear , experience, and whatever situation shows up. And yeah , legendary beings like the Death Devil, the Darkness Devil, Makima , and Pochita really sit near the top of the whole ladder. Still, characters like Denji seem to keep getting stronger , like each battle is a little more fuel for the next.

As the story keeps moving ahead, new information might totally flip these positions around, and honestly that’s part of why fans stay locked in for every chapter. For now though, these characters pretty much stand as the absolute height of power in the Chainsaw Man universe, showing why the series keeps pulling in anime and manga people worldwide.
